Sachin Tendulkar, this name signifies a great cricketing era in Indian Cricket since past more than 20 years. It was a dream of an innocent faced boy to play for the Indian Cricket team and always make it win in all its endeavors. He showed some great talent at the domestic level, which enabled him to enter the Indian International Cricket team with the very first record of being the youngest ever to enter an international Cricket team. Thereafter, as we all know, he never looked back in his career and just went on continuously establishing new and great cricketing records to his name throughout his entire career.

Today, the phenomenal career of this great cricketing legend is on its way of a memorable end, with the master having declared his retirement from all forms of International Cricket after his landmark 200th International Test match against the West Indies starting on November 14, 2013. At this particular juncture, it is almost like a moral duty of the Indian Cricket fans to proudly remember the insurmountable achievements of this cricketing hero and bid him farewell with a great salute. He has almost been like a one-man army who has ruled the batting card of the Indian Cricket team since past more than 20 years. Sachin has been the pioneer of the Indian batting line-up whether it has been an international Test match or a One-day international cricket match. While making the Indian team win on numerous occasions, he kept on scoring piles of runs for himself making almost all the significant International Cricket batting records turn to his name.

He batted like a hero, a champion and a legend. He is well known with the nickname of a ‘master-blaster’ in the cricketing arena. Today, he holds the maximum number of international batting records to his name. Among them, the main are becoming the youngest ever to become an International cricketer, scoring the most runs in one-day internationals, scoring the most runs in international Test matches, scoring the most centuries in one-day internationals, scoring the most centuries in international Test matches, scoring the most centuries in all formats of the sport, getting the most number of man-of-the-match awards in one-day internationals, becoming the first ever to score a double century in one-day internationals and now becoming the first ever to play 200 International Test matches. More than these batting records, he has always been like a role model to follow for every cricketer in the modern Cricket. He has leaded the Indian Cricket team by an example not only while he was the Captain of the side but even otherwise while being only a modest star player of the Indian Cricket team. Today, he is like an icon of not only the Indian Cricket but also the entire cricketing world.

So many people not only in India but also around the world used to watch Indian International Cricket matches especially to see the batting of Sachin Tendulkar. Sachin had such an enormous potential and capacity in himself that he could make the Indian team win the entire match based on his own batting itself. He was and still is a true champion, ever fighter and real sportsman with the true spirit of the sport in himself. His explicit style is that he always thanks God on scoring a century in a Cricket match by lifting up his bat towards the sky. In tune with this great virtue of the cricketing hero, the cricket fans show their respect towards the legend by regarding him as “the God of Cricket”. This metaphor is the real proof of the height of greatness of the immortal cricketing legend. Most of all, he has always remained a down-to-earth person even though people have acknowledged him with however great credits and recognition to his name.

The retirement of Sachin from all forms of International Cricket is not only the completion of his international cricketing career but an end of a great cricketing era in the true sense. Truly speaking, Sachin is such a star, which takes birth once in centuries. Let us pay a great tribute to Sachin at the completion of his career in the right way by not only acknowledging and saluting the genius but also imbibing his exceptional qualities in ourselves. Sachin is not only an asset for India but also a treasure in form of an inspirational cricketing son of India. Let us hope that like a diamond, which remains a diamond forever even though we cut it into pieces, the light of the superstar Sachin keeps shining forever even though his international cricketing career comes to an end.
